MARCH
March 4 - Bark Mulch Delivery
This is the BIG ONE! Staging area will be at the Kingwood Park and Ride. Please arrive no later than 7 AM. Trailer haulers should arrive 15-30 minutes earlier for obtaining first load. This is an all day event. Help is needed from parents, siblings, and friends. Scouts must fully participate in both Bark Mulch Sales and Delivery to receive full incentives. Scoutmaster approval needed for excused absences. 
March 5 - Bark Mulch Delivery (Rain Out Makeup Day)

ONLY IF ORIGINAL DELIVERY ON 3/5 IS CANCELLED.

Merit Badge is American Heritage and Citizenship in the Nation. Anyone wishing to work on the merit badge should get a blue card from our Advancment Chairperson - Mr. Standley.


SUMMER CAMP PACKETS - Hood Scout Reservation packets will be distributed at this meeting.  We only have a 1 week window to get them back.

March 7 - Committee Meeting

7:00 PM at FPCK. Agenda will be e-mailed prior to the meeting. A representative from the Titans patrol to preview the April program.

 
March 11 - Bark Mulch Spreading
Support your chartered organization. Volunteer to spread bark mulch on the church grounds. Start time will be at 9 AM and last for about 2-3 hours. See sign-up sheet at Troop Meeting entrance table. 
March 13 - Troop Meeting

7:00 at FPCK. Program Patrol is the Misfits. Service Patrol is The Patrol.

March 16-19 - Vicksburg Campout

Vicksburg National Military Park preserves the site of the American Civil War Battle of Vicksburg, waged from May 18 to July 4, 1863.  Our troop will visit and learn about the Civil War through the museum and the actual grounds.

March 20 - PLC Meeting
7:00 PM at FPCK. All Scouts in a Leadership Position need to attend. 
March 27 - Troop Meeting (New Scout Investiture)

7:00 PM at FPCK.  New Scout Investiture.  Service patrol is The Patrol.  New Scout Investiture.  All incoming Scouts will be divided into patrols and introduced to the Troop during the Investiture ceremony.  Troop Guides responsible for working with new Scouts in organizing into patrols and conducting ceremony.

APRIL
April 1 - Troop Leadersip Training

Starts at 8:30 AM and lasts for about 3 hours. Training will take place in the 2nd floor classroom (side entrance). All newly signed-up Scouts and Scouts that don't have the 'Trained' patch on their shirt need to attend. Lunch and breakfast will be provided.  Senior Leadership (SPL and ASPL's) must attend.

A training session for all new parents will occur concurrent with TLT.

April 1-2 - Orientation Campout

Meet at Stubblefield Recreation Area by 2:00 PM. This event is for all newly signed-up Scouts to learn Scout camping skills. Troop Guides and SPL and ASPLs need to attend for instructing the new Scouts. New parents are highly encouraged to camp along.

Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast will be provided. Transportation will not be provided by the Troop. Campout will conclude by 11:00 AM on Sunday. Travel time from the park to Kingwood is about 20 minutes.

April 13 - Swim Test #1

7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Atascocita Lifetime Fitness (intersection of Lake Houston Parkway and Will Clayton).

Swim tests are required annually for both Scouts and Adults participating in aquatic activities such as canoeing and Summer Camp swims.

April 15 - Swim Test #2

9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Atascocita Lifetime Fitness (intersection of Lake Houston Parkway and Will Clayton).

April 28-30 - George W. Pirtle Scout Reservation - Sailing & Canoeing Campout

George W. Pirtle Scout Reservation. 6:30 PM Friday departure from FPCK. 2:00-3:0 PM Sunday approximate return time at Luby's Cafeteria parking lot (across from Harley-Davidson of Kingwood).
