APRIL
April 1 - Troop Leadersip Training

Starts at 8:30 AM and lasts for about 3 hours. Training will take place in the 2nd floor classroom (side entrance). All newly signed-up Scouts and Scouts that don't have the 'Trained' patch on their shirt need to attend. Lunch and breakfast will be provided.  Senior Leadership (SPL and ASPL's) must attend.

A training session for all new parents will occur concurrent with TLT.

April 1-2 - Orientation Campout

Meet at Stubblefield Recreation Area by 2:00 PM. This event is for all newly signed-up Scouts to learn Scout camping skills. Troop Guides and SPL and ASPLs need to attend for instructing the new Scouts. New parents are highly encouraged to camp along.

Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast will be provided. Transportation will not be provided by the Troop. Campout will conclude by 11:00 AM on Sunday. Travel time from the park to Kingwood is about 20 minutes.

April 2 - SHAC Eagle Scout Reception

2:00 PM - Crown Plaza (8686 Kirby Drive)

Recognizes the previous year’s Eagle Scout class. The council continues its tradition of providing this reception free of charge for new Eagle Scouts and his guests. The evening is underwritten with generous sponsorships by many Eagle Scout alumni, charter members and patrons.

7:00 PM at FPCK. Program patrol are the Titans.  Service patrol is Misfits.

Merit Badges are Canoeing and Sailing. Anyone wishing to work on the merit badge should get a blue card from our Advancment Chairperson - Mr. Standley. Troop Guide instruction for advancements are available at 6:30 PM.

April 11 - Committee Meeting

7:00 PM at FPCK. Agenda will be e-mailed prior to the meeting.  The SPL will be present to preview the May program.

April 13 - Swim Test #1

7:15 PM to 8:30 PM at the Atascocita Lifetime Fitness (intersection of Lake Houston Parkway and Will Clayton).

Swim tests are required annually for both Scouts and Adults participating in aquatic activities such as canoeing and Summer Camp swims.

April 15 - Swim Test #2

1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Atascocita Lifetime Fitness (intersection of Lake Houston Parkway and Will Clayton).

George W. Pirtle Scout Reservation. 6:30 PM Friday departure from FPCK. 2:00-3:0 PM Sunday approximate return time at Luby's Cafeteria parking lot (across from Harley-Davidson of Kingwood).

May 20 - District Training Day

Training courses for Adult Leaders will be held at the Kingwood LDS Church located at 4021 Deerbrook Drive (just off of Northpark Dr). Enter the building through the west doors.

Courses include Classroom YPT, Scoutmaster Specific Training, Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS), Training the COR, Merit Badge Counselor Orientation.

May 29 - Court of Honor

7:00 PM at FPCK in the Sanctuary. Program patrol and presenters should arrive 30 minutes beforehand.
